Although he is unfortunately somewhat forgotten today, Assem Stétié—one of Lebanon’s earliest abstract artists—produced a personal body of work that was both lyrical and masterful, composed of signs in pure colour, a form of distinctive calligraphy, particularly in the 1970s, which allows us to date our tapestry.
