Composition
Aubusson tapestry woven by the Atelier Pinton. No. 1/6, circa 1960.
Fumeron created his first Cartoons (he produced more than 500) as early as the 1940s, collaborating with the Pinton workshops, before receiving numerous commissions from the French State, and then taking part in the decoration of the liner « France ». First figurative and influenced by Lurçat, he moved toward abstraction before returning to a colorful and realistic figuration from the 1980s onward. A typical abstract Cartoon by the artist, in a vein that brings him closer to Borderie or Wogensky, and that bears witness to his ever-renewed invention.
